The
Figurative Paintings is a continual exploration into the human, and
sometimes animal, body. Through humor and playful eroticism, Ted
explores basic human desires to connect. His Fauvist colors reflect his
background as a silkscreen artist and graphic designer. The figures are
post-racial but still highly gendered. Although it has been suggested
that Ted's work is highly sexualized, he feels he is more involved in
patterning and story telling. His subjects just happen to often be naked
and intertwined, and once in a while having sex.
